The CW Picks Up Sarah Michelle Gellar´s Pilot

 Surprisingly Ringer, the new pilot starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and originally filmed for CBS has finally been picked up... by The CW!

 According to Deadline, Ringer has found a home on the network co-owned by CBS which marks the first important pick up decision made by brand-new CW president Mark Pedowitz.

 The show will mark the return of Gellar to series TV and provides The CW with a major star that has huge following in their targeted 18-34 demographic.

 Just days ago, the actress was asked about the Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie project while visiting the Los Angeles Public Library as part of  the "Nestle Share the Joy of Reading Program".

Heather Morris confirms: 'I'm being considered for Buffy'

 Heather Morris recently confirmed to Access Hollywood that she is a contender for the role of Buffy in the upcoming big screen reboot. Rumours began swirling around recently that the Glee star was one of the possible stars for the role but they were quickly dismissed by a spokesperson for the project.

 Now, the Morris herself confirms: "They're considering me! I found out and I almost peed my pants because I was so excited!" Morris expressed her admiration for the original TV series and stated that she is such a fan that she does not care what role she ends up having as long as she gets a chance to be part of it.

"If they make [Buffy] when [Glee] is on hiatus, I don't even care what I do," Morris said. "I can just run through the shot and do nothing, even if I'm not Buffy!"

Heather Morris won't be the new Buffy

 After rumours started swirling around that Glee star Heather Morris would be playing the lead role on the upcoming big screen reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer , Warner Bros. has been quick to dismiss them.

"We're not even thinking about casting yet, the script isn't even written!" screenwriter Whit Anderson told The Hollywood Reporter.

 Morris has recently become popular after becoming a series regular on Fox hit show, Glee.

 Early this year, it was reported that a brand new adaptation of the character without series creator Joss Whedon's was in development. Since then, fans everywhere and even stars of the original TV show such as Eliza Dushku (who played fan-favourite Faith in both 'Buffy' and its spin-off, 'Angel') have reacted against a Whedon-less remake:

“I go to Joss’s parties. I’ll just leave it at that,” Dushku told MTV News. Not only that but she also took her Twitter to express her opinion on the project: "Joss made the "Buffster" & w/out him... I just don't trust the girl. Or the world."

 Alyson Hannigan (who played Willow) also stated her disgust towards the new movie and expressed her thoughts to Cinemablend:  "That's a very big mistake in my opinion. I mean if Joss isn't involved, it's only the title." When asked about her involvement she said: "Not without Joss. Joss is the only reason that we would go back. I mean, it's just ridiculous to think of that TV show without Joss. That's just silly to me… And all the fans know that, too, so I don't know what they're thinking."

 There are still no official cast announcements from Warner Bros regarding the new Buffy movie.

 According to fans, there is no Buffy without Sarah Michelle Gellar but, besides her, is there any particular actress you would like to see inherit the stake? Or is Gellar's portrayal of the character irreplaceable? Sound off in the comments!

Warner Brothers announces 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' reboot

 Back in May 2009, it was announced that a big screen adaptation of the hit show Buffy The Vampire Slayer was in the works for the big screen. The bad news? Acclaimed director Joss Whedon who wrote the 1992 movie and created the TV series in 1997 was not going to be involved in the project. "I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck," he said.

 Now, according to the Los Angeles Times, actress Whit Anderson (Yes Man) will be writing the new movie's screenplay while Charles Roven (Batman Begins) will produce it. Anderson has expressed her love for the character:

 "I didn't really watch much television at all, but I always watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That was the one show I would watch when I got home," Anderson said.  "I just loved this character. I was the same age as Buffy, and it was so rare to have a female lead character on TV in those days who was strong and capable and smart but also allowed to be feminine."

 Whedon on the other hand has expressed his "mixed emotions" about this new movie reboot of the franchise:

 "This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths - just because they can’t think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself," he joked to E! Online.

  Whedon admitted with his usual witty humour that he had "always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was," he continued. "And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill." 

  What is going on in Hollywood these days? Are they really that uninspired? As a Buffy fan, this project really gets on my nerves, as we (the fans) have been begging for a movie for years, but with the characters from TV we all know and love... and specially with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Joss Whedon involved. This has disaster written all over it! Why the hell is an actress writing the screenplay? And the worst part is, after it flops, there won't be any interest whatsoever in doing a proper movie with the original characters. If its not going to be made properly, it is better to leave it the way it is!
