Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr Part Ways With "Gossip Girl"

 It was meant to happen eventually. According to TVLine, Gossip Girl won´t be renewing Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szorh contracts for the show´s fifth season.

 However, there is still some hope for fans of both actresses as the show has invited both of them to guest star from time to time in the future.

 Momsen´s departure has been expected for a while now as she has been focusing mainly on her work as a musician, appearing only on just a handful of episodes during the current season.

Putting in another day at work, Blake Lively was spotted on the set of “Gossip Girl” in New York City yesterday (March 9).

The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” actress looked a bit chilly and kept warm in a full-length coat while shutterbugs looked on. Blake also got an on-set visit from her pooch pal Penny.

A Black Girl on Gossip Girl!

Actress Tika Sumpter is the first black actress to have a major role in the massively popular teen/young adult TV show. She plays Raina Thorpe, the daughter of Bart Bass’ former associate. Rumour has it she’ll be the love interest of bad boy character Chuck Bass.

Michelle: "I Don't Know Anything About Weed"

When it comes to marijuana, Michelle Trachtenberg just says no. So when longtime pal Topher Grace asked her to play a pothead in his upcoming 80s flick, Take Me Home Tonight, she had to study up.

"I play a goth stoner chick and I don't know anything about the weed," the Gossip Girl star, 25, told Us Magazine Tuesday at a fete celebrating her recent Maxim cover. "Really, I know nothing about it. So I had to do a little research."

The actress was quick to add her research didn't involve actually lighting up, just chatting up a few pals.

"I was talking with my friends, who are apparently a bunch of f--king stoners," she told Us.

The prep work for her Maxim cover was a bit more rigorous.

"I stopped eating," she joked of donning lingerie for the shoot. "No, I ate a lot. My favorite foods are bread and cheese, so I basically just limited eating those things from fives times a day to about twice a week. But only for ten days."

And post shoot? "Immediately after I wrapped on set I asked, 'Who’s ordering the pizza?'"

Ed Westwick Ready To Move On From 'Gossip Girl'

 Ed Westwick has recently stated his lack of enthusiasm towards playing Chuck Bass on the CW show Gossip Girl. The actor who has been on the show for 4 years now, allegedly told  Tatler that he lacks the connection he once had with the character.

"It's all about the work, you know, the feeling you get when you connect to the work." he said. "And that's what I had with Chuck Bass in the beginning - I was fascinated by him. But now, to be completely honest, I'm ready to do something else. Really ready to do something else."

 We can´t blame him, the show has pretty much gone downhill after the second season. What do you say? Would you still watch Gossip Girl if Ed Westwick decides to leave?

Blake Lively Named Most Desirable Woman

Ask Men dot com has unveiled its annual 99 Most Desirable Women list and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively came in at #1. Not exactly going out on a limb there.

Blake, who also appeared in The Town and other films last year, jumped 84 spots from her 2010 ranking. Someone at Ask Men must have just noticed her.

Black Swan star Mila Kunis was the runner-up, followed by Modern Family stunner Sofia Vergara in a bit of a surprise (although certainly deserved) at #3.

Stunning Gossip Girl beauty Jessica Szohr stripped down to nothing but body paint for a new ad campaign and Radar Online has the ultra sexy photos!

Jessica, 25, took it all off and then covered up in multi-colored body paint for the SoBe Lifewater ad that will be published in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in February.

The gorgeous photo shoot took place in the picturesque jungle and streets of Costa Rica.

Leighton Meester Talks 'Really Hard' Breakup

Romance hasn't come easy for Leighton Meester over the years – and that's okay with her.

"I think that the importance of love is really strong for me in my life, whether it's a guy or a friend or just my puppy," the Gossip Girl actress, who also stars in Country Strong, tells February's Seventeen, on newsstands Jan. 4. "I think love changes you over time, and whether you have good or bad experiences, you always grow and learn from it."

Still, Meester, 24, admits to some trouble finding the right fit in a romantic relationship.

"I've never really liked anybody before. Even when I would date guys, it would sort of be on the surface and it was always a relief when we broke up," she says.

Asked about her relationship with costar and ex-boyfriend Sebastian Stan, she says, "I've only had one experience where it was really hard and I was really sad when it ended, but that's what taught me a lot about myself and love and life – and that's good."

Despite the heartbreak, Meester believes in love. "If I shut love down or didn't let it in, I would just be this really cold, sad person," she adds.

Taylor Momsen: No more link IMG

The famous model agency IMG has announced that they no longer represent the controversial actress of “Gossip Girl "because of the attitudes that she has shown lately.

IMG is a world-famous modeling agency, with which Taylor Momsen has signed a contract three years ago to represent it. But that relationship has ended. Is that the heads of IMG, the behavior of Taylor in recent months has been too controversial and therefore, has decided not to go more with the actress.

No one knows the exact reasons for the break but it seems that one of the behavior "bizarre" the actress that IMG has taken into account in making that decision, has been the one that occurred in October this year, when Taylor , in a presentation live in New York, photographed her bare breasts.

Kelly Rutherford Defends Taylor Momsen

Kelly Rutherford's not worried about Taylor Momsen, crazy antics or not.

On Gossip Girl, Rutherford, 42, played stepmom to Momsen's Jenny Humphrey -- until the 17-year-old was asked to leave the show last month for an indefinite hiatus.

But Rutherford told Hollywood Life that Momsen has just shifted her focus from acting to music (Momsen fronts the band Pretty Reckless.)

"Her passion has just really become her music," Rutherford said. "Taylor's out there doing her music and if you hear her music you understand why she is so passionate."

Still, Momsen's departure from the show coincided with her increasingly dark reputation: the former kid star has flashed her breasts to a concert crowd, given countless potty-mouthed interviews and even requested a full bar on her tour rider despite being underage.

"I think she's young," Rutherford said. "And is exploring her world and she's exploring being an artist. I think it's important to be fully expressed."

"She works hard on Gossip Girl but doesn't care about the plot or the other cast members," a Momsen source recently told Us. "She treats it like a 9-5. No emotional investment."

Leighton Meester's Quest for Singing Success

Most of us know her as the devious Blair Waldorf on the hit show “Gossip Girl,” but Leighton Meester proved to be quite the talented actress in her latest movie “Country Strong".

The 24-year-old recently sat down with MTV News and explained that, although she’s not even a country singer, she worked closely with her very own music producer to perfect her role as a country singing beauty queen.

"I think it was really surprising how everything kind of came together," Meester said of the training. "Each of us got our own producers to work with and mine [Nathan Chapman], he works very closely with Taylor Swift, which is sort of similar, in the same vein of the music that I'm making in the movie.”

Revealing her new love for Nashville, TN, Leighton added, "Just being in Nashville and working there and meeting the most incredible musicians and producers and songwriters and singers, just being in that world was really cool," the "Gossip Girl" star said. "I have this newfound appreciation for that style of music."
