MAC's Style Black Collection for Fall 09 is a mixture of black shades as well as black-inspired shades (e.g. the mineralize eyeshadows. I can't remember the last time I was this eager for a collection to be available!! Never before has an entire collection been devoted to the color black, and I can't wait to rock some black lipstick with a shocking hot pink shadow (not part of the collection, just my personal vision). Bling Black Glimmerglass (Sheer black with gold pearl) and the Intense Black Grease Paintstick are going to be my must haves from the collection...

~I know, it's true. I've played these tortured teenagers. I can't wait to shed that image.~ -Claire Danes

When I hear the word "sexy", I have to admit that Claire Danes isn't exactly the first person that comes to mind. BlackBook magazine however, apparently had insight that I did not possess in regards to the "My So Called Life" and "Romeo and Juliet" star... Mz.Danes (Mrs.Hugh Dancy after her upcoming September nuptials) is BlackBook's September cover model and looks AMAZING!! It is one of the most drastic image revamps I have ever seen! She actually looks like the calculating seductress that the media made her out to be when Billy Crudup left Mary Louise Parker for her while Mary Louise was still pregnant with his child (deliciously scandalous!!)...now at least it seems a lil more believable to me.

Claire Danes: Danger, High Voltage!

One of the hottest trends for fall? Textured stockings/hosiery. One of the hottest accessories for fall? Legs...wearing those stockings.

Wolford, a luxury brand of stockings for 60 years, has a fall line of stockings that can only be described as weapons of mass seduction... So sexy you won't want to cover them with pesky outer garments...

Wolford
Every woman should own at least one pair of these...

~MAC in High Definition~

"A pleasant illusion is better than a harsh reality." -Christian Nevell Bovee

High Definition. Those 2 words put the fear of God in most actors/actresses and models. Although high definition is a great to view your favorite television program of movie, up until recently it was also the most unforgiving form of visual technology. Hi Def shows every flaw no matter how teeny tiny they may be. Until now. MAC, among a few other makeup brands has developed cosmetics specifically for creating the illusion of perfection during close up high definition filming.
MAC's Hi-Def collection is built around their Face and Body Foundation, loved by artists in photography, film and fashion for over 20 years. Finish with Mineralize Skinfinish/Natural; this tag team foundation and baked powder works wonders by imitating skin’s natural texture and tone—a utter necessity for the HD world. Four smooth and subtle shades of lipstick, ensuring lips are perfectly coated are also a great aspect of the collection which will be available September 10, 2009.

~"Max Factor: 100 Years" My 100th Post~

“It's an honor to be a part of such a legendary group of stars representing Max Factor, such as Rita Hayworth and Marilyn Monroe, ... I'm so excited to start working on the campaign.” -Carmen Electra

Max Factor Facts:
1) He invented lipgloss (one of Glamour Whores very favorite things in the whole wide world). He created it in 1930 for the movies.
2)He coined the term "makeup" based on the verb "to make up one's face". I literally wouldn't be a makeup artist if it wasn't for Max factor.
3)Many of Max Factor's celebrity clients appeared, UNPAID (I'm sure done out of love for the much appreciated Max Factor), in beautiful full page, color magazine ads to promote Max Factor cosmetics, so the brand "Max Factor" soon became world-renowned.
4)Mr.Factor founded his cosmetics dynasty in 1909. 100 years ago.
5)Max Factor actually started out as a wig-maker and was responsible for such looks such as Billy Burke's blond curls from her role as the Good Witch Glinda in "The Wizard of Oz" and Lucille Ball's bright red wig.
6)He was born Maximilian Factorowitz

I write this post with mixed emotions. This is my 100th post and I'm pleased with it's progress thus far and I am excited about it's/my future. That being said, I just wish my milestone post wasn't a farewell to Max Factor products. No, Max Factor is not filing for bankruptcy. The world renowned brand will just no longer be available in the US due to less than lackluster sales. And I think it's BULLSHIT!! Yes, I eloquently said "BULLSHIT".

Max Factor is as American as Apple Pie or baseball!! An Icon like Marilyn Monroe (who had her "face" done by Max Factor) and as recognizable a brand as Pepsi or Ford. Of all his inventions the one that has had the biggest impact is "Hollywood Glamour" because make no mistake about it, Max Factor is the person who brought glamour to the silver screen.

Max Factor founded the company bearing his name in 1909, 100 in years ago. The Factor family sold the company in 1973 for $500 million. In 1991 Procter and Gamble purchased the company and has owned it ever since. And they are the ones I have an issue with. Why you ask? Because it's WRONG!! As I have stated, Max Factor is an American icon and basically invented the genre of film/movie makeup, but Proctor and Gamble have decided to discontinue the brand in the US. 1.2 Billion. That's how much Max Factor earns for P&G. Wow!! However almost all of the said 1.2 billion is revenue from countries outside of the US

Although the company only has around one per cent market share in the States, I feel that P&G makes enough to keep it on the shelves in the US. Even if only out of respect.
That, unfortunately is not going to happen, the product will no longer be available as of the beginning of 2010. So if you are a fan of Max Factor products I suggest you stock up now.

Instead of saying goodbye to the oldest, most renowned cosmetics company in the world I will instead say Happy Anniversary Max Factor(1909-2009). 100 years of making people beautiful and glamorous!!

~Nicholas Kirkwood and Polyvore...My Newest Addictions~

~It is not I who becomes addicted, it is my body.~ -Jean Cocteau

Let me introduce you to my latest addictions...

Polyvore:
http://www.polyvore.com/
The official "About Us" from Polyvore homepage:

Polyvore is a free, easy-to-use web-based application for mixing and matching images from anywhere on the web. It is also a vibrant community of creative and stylish people.
Polyvore lets you create sets composed of individual images using an easy to use, drag and drop editor. After you have created a set, you can publish and share it with your friends and the Polyvore community

Now Glamour Whore's description:
Polyvore is FABULOUS!! It is a amazing site to express your creativity. You can design collages, "sets", outfits, dedications to designers and so on.. It's kind of hard for me to describe so I will show you...

But first let me introduce you Mr.Nicholas Kirkwood.
http://www.nicholaskirkwood.com/
Nicholas Kirkwood is beyond a shoe designer, he is a shoe architect. His designs are original, cutting edge, fashion forward, and utterly gorgeous. He also designs for Rodarte, which just so happens to be my favorite design house.

His bio:
Nicholas Kirkwood is a shoe designer based in London who graduated with a degree in BA Fine Art from Central St. Martins before completing a course at Cordwainers. Kirkwood won the Condé Nast Footwear Emerging Talent of the Year award with his first collection in 2005 and has since carved a distinct signature style with his constant innovation of form and use of unconventional materials such as stingray, watersnake and python. Refusing to design flat-soled shoes, Kirkwood has caught the attention of Grace Jones and Cecilia Dean of Visionaire and has collaborated with designers such as Rodarte, Gareth Pugh and Chloé. His Spring/Summer 08 collection saw a collaboration with Swarovski and subsequently won him the Alta Roma Vogue Italia Award for accessories design. At the 2008 British Fashion Awards he was presented with the Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for accessory design. Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoes are sold worldwide and stockists include Liberty, Browns, Dover Street Market, Le Bon Marché and Seven New York.

I am completely obsessed by his designs and consumed with urgency to purchase my first pair...Yes, Glamour Whore has goals and aspiration, I aspire to own Nicholas Kirkwoods!!

To introduce you to my newest obsessions/addictions I have combined them. I made a Nicholas Kirkwood "set" on Polyvore. Before I show you my creation take a look at some of
Nicholas Kirkwood's shoe architecture that didn't make into the "set"
