Ultra Slick Lipstick - Blush Allure, Demi Buff and Demure Rose

There were three new Ultra Slick Lipstick ($ 32) in my Edward Bess box from Bergdorf Goodman. The new Ultra Slick Lipstick trio for fall 2010 - Blush Allure, Demi Buff and Demure Rose - is cool / neutral and lighter than the fall of 2009 colors (Tender Love, Forever Yours, and Night Romance). The lipsticks are still demi-mat with the same wild fig scent, but I have not found them to be as smooth and moisturizing. When I spoke with my favorite girls from Edward Bess, saying all three irresistible shades, and my faith was rewarded when I tore into my box. Three different shades of pink - all beautiful - in "one fell swoop."

Ultra Slick Lipstick - Blush Allure, Demi Buff and Demure Rose

Edward Bess Ultra Slick Lipstick is described as deceptive, a way to accentuate the curves of your lips with irresistible, brilliant colors. Another difference is the packaging. Instead of the sleek, round metal tube with EDWARD BESS printed on the side, is now a rectangular plastic container, almost twice as thick, and EB stamped on top. Much bulkier but lighter, lipstick will not roll off a table onto the floor, but I prefer the slim adherent of the old packaging. In fact, I hope they are round metal not phased out because I do not care for this new packaging at all, and I wonder if it helps the lipstick is less humid than their older sisters. The new house does not squeeze with a reassuring click as the older lipsticks do. The price has risen since last year, too, from $ 29 to $ 32, but the price increase took place before the new packaging. Based on this new product direction, is Edward Bess Lipstick been edged out of my number 1 spot by Chantecaille Lip Chic lipsticks.

The creamy, long wearing formula provides superior hydration (actually, it's not "just a claim"). Ultra Slick smooths and shapes lips with an exclusive treatment for a sensual pout. I like the way it feels on my lips, and so long as any "long lasting" lipsticks I like (which means they feel good).

I have mentioned many times since April, when I bought my first Edward Bess cosmetics, I think his line of elegant, luxurious, and extremely satisfying. There is something about his color that makes me think of his birthplace, Charleston, South Carolina, one of my favorite cities in the world. My new lipsticks, along with the new Deep Shine Lip dictionaries, could not be more pleased. They are awesome pink for all - hot enough to heat the skin tones and flattering and warm for us cool types. I do not know how he continues to manage to create shades that work for so many of us.

You can also become a regular Edward Bess - even if you do not have a local source. If you wish to order from Bergdorf Goodman, Susan, or just give Jennifer a call at (212) 872-8826. They offer professional and friendly assistance, and they will keep you informed as new items are expected. They helped me choose Edward Bess shades that are perfect for me, and I'm sure they can do the same for you. Now Edward Bess supporters in Los Angeles and Houston to see and buy the line of Neiman Marcus. I am insanely jealous. Demure Rose is a medium cool-neutral pink lip color. It is less than beige Laura Mercier Pink Champagne cooler than NARS Dolce Vita, and a full shade lighter than the fall of 2009 Forever Yours.
How is it that the DC area do not consider an Edward Bess count? We will be the center of the universe.

~Nicki Minaj x MAC = Mixed Feelings~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

Just gave away my new Pink Friday Lipstick with MAC! Standby for details on how u can have it too!!! Wendy was dope & so was the audience ;) - @NICKIMINAJ (Wed Nov 17th)

As the whole world knows by now Nicki Minaj and MAC have allegedly (I have yet to hear of confirmation from MAC) collaborated on a new lipstick to coincide with her November 22nd "Pink Friday" CD release. The details are sketchy at best but the gist is that it's going to be a hybrid of MAC's "Girl About Town" and " Pink Nouveau" (2 of my absolute favorites) and will only be available for 4 consecutive Fridays. Cute. I guess...

Look, I love Nicki Minaj and once upon a time I had a lusty obsession with MAC. So what's my issue? Besides my personal opinion that MAC has fallen off... it's just so damn predictable. I'm surprised MAC waited this long to whisper in Nicki's ear the way they have whispered in EVERYONE's ear. The list of celebrities who have been "honored" by MAC is longer than the list of rapper's "honored" by Kat Stacks. MAC is slore when it comes to celebrities. Including Lil Kim... I'm just sayin.
Look, I know myself and I know I'll be the 1st one to cop that "Pink Friday" lipstick because I'm a damn junkie and can't help myself. I just wish Nicki had considered some other fab companies...like Lime Crime. They have the bright color game on smash...

~Desired Address: 885 Third Avenue AKA "The Lipstick Building"~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

“Before I put another notch in my lipstick case, you better make sure you put me in my place.”
-Pat Benatar

I was out and about in NYC the other day. Well... I was actually supposed to be working but told a little fib about needing something from Duane Reade to get outside into the sexy spring weather we have been enjoying on the East Coast...

Anyway...back to topic. I was out and about and was approached by a gentleman named...ummm...oops forgot his name. Not important. (Mean but true) So this fella starts talking to me and I'm doing the usual head nodding and eye rolling I do when utterly not interested. I did hear him say he was a real estate developer though... So when he asked "What does a guy have to do to take you out to dinner?" I responded by saying "Build me a building shaped like a lipstick tube and I'll go to dinner with you"
Him: "I would but it's been done"
Me: "Come again?! Huh?! Where?!"
Him: "53rd and 3rd. 885 Third Avenue to be exact. How have you never heard of it"
Me: "Good question!! Gotta go!!"
Him: "Wait!! Can I have your number?"
***Awkward silence***
Glamour Whore smiles and skips away....

He'll get over it. I had other things on my mind...like researching this mythical "Lipstick Building" he spoke of...

Sure enough...he was correct. And apparently I was the only one who had never heard of it. The building has it own
Wikipedia page!! And it's fabulous... I mean, it doesn't look EXACTLY like a tube of lipstick but it's close enough for me to want to live there. Really really bad. If you ever find yourself outside of 53rd and 3rd be sure to wave to me because I'm sure I'll be there just wishin and hoping... I know...kinda sad but... c'mon!! It's the LIPSTICK BUILDING!!! If ever a place fit for a Glamour Whore...*sigh*

~MODELCHICK's Transformation From Black To Blond...Again. So F'n Fabulous~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

"The loneliest woman in the world is a woman without a close woman friend."
-George Santayana

How did Glamour Whore celebrate Valentine's Day? Taking part in a makeover of course... Specifically: Documenting her close friend Rinna's (MODELCHICK to you...) transformation from dark brown/black to BLOND...again. Lemme give you the background:

Years and years ago I walked into a NYC apartment filled with friends of mine and laid eyes on a force of nature by the name of Rinna... AKA Rinna La Reina AKA MODELCHICK. She was 5ft 9in tall, had the brightest smile ever, the clearest most gorgeous olive skin and the FIERCEST platinum blond hair with black underneath (if it were red I would swear Mr.Louboutin gained inspiration from her...). For those who have read Jackie Collins novels, when I picture the character Venus Maria I always picture Rinna.

Her laugh was loud and infectious and I knew 2 things immediately 1) we were going to be the bestest of girlfriends. And we are... hell, she's family now. And 2) I had found my muse.
Since that day we have seen each other thru heartbreak and love affairs, success and failures, fun and misery, and a million transformations... A few years ago my Mexican/Greek goddess decided she wanted to get back to basics and return to her dark roots, literally. She went brunette. And although she proved you can have fun in any hair color, lately she had the itch to go back to blond. Platinum blond. And I wanted to take you all along on her journey...

Abut Rinna:
Born and raised in the deep south, MODELCHICK made the trek to Gotham in her early twenties. She took the city by storm, having fun and making a living doing various jobs: modeling, PR, bartending, writing, etc... And today she is the Founder/Editor-In-Chief of "Starrphuk Ent" a blogzine in which she reports on the world that she lives in ...the world of erotica. I love her writing, she specializes in all topics: politics, food, entertainment, the economy, etc and how they all correlate back to sex. It's hot, informative and interesting all at the same time. Mz.La Reina is also an accomplished cook and has a series of cooking video "Cooking After Dark", they are posted on the aforementioned website and I suggest you check em out...

Saturday:
Greeted at the door by her adorable pup Wilhelmina, I once again marveled at the wonderful colors of her apartment even though I have been there a bazillion times. My girl definitely lives life in living color...

LOL @ the her board games...and a issue of Vogue:

Rinna informed we the color was going to be done by Wanda, a FIERCE hairstylist and owner of "Essence Of Hair" located at 372 Summit Avenue Jersey City 201-963-5702. We walked over there and it began...

Before:

The bleach application:
Rinna wanted a black undercarriage so the hair had to be separated. Then Wanda began the process...

Even though Rinna's hair actually lightens fairly quickly, a dramatic process like this takes some time...and a girl's gotta eat. So we called Marco's in Jersey City to deliver some of their delicious pasta...

And then our girl Roz stepped in for a wash and dry. She wouldn't let me take a facial pic however I did manage to photograph how we get thru the tedious procedures that keep us gorgeous:

Then I took a minute to myself in the very, very back room (cigarette break...oh shut up):

Finally time to rinse and apply toner:

Rollers in and under the dryer she goes...

At this point (4 hrs later) it was after midnight and I headed home to get some sleep...
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday:
I'm back!!! It's Valentine's Day and some some quality time of girl talk, late lunch and a cute movie... the transformation continues:

Her hair has been styled and it's my job to give her a new makeup look... I choose slightly smokey eyes, pale lips lips and contoured cheeks....GORGEOUS!!

And to quote an episode of Seinfeld: "Yes, they're real and they're fabulous." Lol...
