FYI: Fun Facts About The Color Green

*Green is the color of Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty.

*In several religions, green is the color associated with resurrection and regeneration.

*There is a superstition that sewing with green thread on the eve of a fashion show brings bad luck to the design house.

*The prophet Mohammed wore a green cloak and turban.

"Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises."
-Pedro Calderon de la Barca

The 2010 Teen Choice Awards were held last night (airing tonight at 8pm on Fox) and of course there was a ton of star power gracing the red carpet. *Yawn* Too bad the stars didn't shine so brightly... I wasn't disappointed by what I saw...just indifferent to it. Nothing reached out and slapped me. No one turned my head...

Except...

Lea Michele. The "Glee" star was perfectly dressed, or I should say "styled" for the occasion in a stunning green and nude Naeem Khan mini-dress from his Resort 2011 Collection.

Adding a nude clutch and fab nude Christian Dior Spring 2010 wedges the young starlet rocked the perfect look for the event. Red carpet worthy yet youthful enough for the teen-based audience. Well done Girl..

Mz.Michele's hair and makeup people did a great job also, matching the "playful yet glam" tone of the ensemble perfectly.

The above was a prime example of green done glam... Below is a prime example of green gone wrong....really really wrong. The color, the fit, the shoes, the hair, the makeup...wrong. So wrong.

Emma, if you look at a dress and think "Auntie Julia would wear/like this"...DON'T WEAR IT!!! Let's just hope she hasn't stopped shaving her underarms region...

FYI:
Crystals and Vibrations :

One of the ways that crystals work for anyone is through their vibrations. Some people are sensitive to different vibrations, and they can actually feel the differences in various stones.

Usually when picking a crystal, people suggest taking each one in your hand and then sensing the vibration within the crystal:

if it is strong pick it up, but if it is dull leave it. Some people can feel these vibrations, but there are many who cannot.

Baccarat, renowned crystal maker, has launched a new high-end jewelry line "The Bouchons de Carafe Collection", designed by acclaimed accessories designer Elie Top, that is striking, bold and gorgeous.

Perfect for a striking, bold and gorgeous Glamour Whore... So if you fit that description then this is for you...

~Shades Of... Grey? Hmmm...~

Interesting Facts About The Color Grey:

The symbolic meaning of the color gray was mourning and repentence

Gray is the color of ashes and a punishment or penance was to walk barefoot in a town covered with ashes

Gray also has a Biblical meaning and is the Christian color for the season of Lent and closely associated with fasting and prayer

Cheap dyes were used to produce the color grey

Gray clothing also symbolized humility and plainness, and for this reason was associated with monastic life and could be cheaply produced by using coarse, rough, undyed dark wool

People who were allowed to wear the color grey during the Elizabethan era, as decreed by the English Sumptuary Laws, were lower and upper classes

A few weeks ago one of my Twitter peeps, and all around charming and great guy, @DJLITEEREX tweeted "My favorite color is grey". At first I was like "huh?!". I mean, seriously, who's favorite color is grey? He said he's just always liked it. After that it was one of those weird situations where once someone brings something to your attention, you see it EVERYWHERE. Lately I have seen some great pieces in the shade of...Grey. Yup. Even shoes... Let's have a look...

FYI: The word "Turban" comes from one of many variations on the word tulip, alluding to the designs which can be created by wrapping the cloth.

I have turbans on the brain... Seriously. I'm having visions of rocking a diamond studded turban while enjoying my dirty martini, very old Hollywood... Or sporting a white one with a bandeau bikini while frolicking on the beach... Or just donning one simply to jazz up my usual uniform of a wife beater and form fitting jeans. I have long been fascinated by and drawn to these beautiful and stylish headdresses...
